Introducing GoAir: The First Indian Airline to Operate from Changi Airport Terminal 4

India’s fastest-growing airline has finally landed in Singapore. The country’s most trusted airline, GoAir, has become the first Indian Airline to operate from Changi Airport’s newest terminal, Terminal 4, which officially opened on 3 August 2018.

Senior Officials of Changi Airport flagged off GoAir’s first flight, G828 as it took to the skies from Singapore to Bengaluru at 0450 hours on Saturday, 19 October 2019. The following day, the first flight to Kolkata, G836 also took off from Changi Airport Terminal 4 at 0450 hours.

Changi Airport gave a warm welcome to the airline in the most Singaporean way possible with a customary welcome program that included a traditional lion dance. Passengers who were travelling to Bengaluru and Kolkata on the inaugural flights were also in for a treat as they received goodie bags at Terminal 4 and were ushered in by ladies dressed in beautiful traditional Indian attires to commemorate another milestone for GoAir.

With its first operational flight from Terminal 4 on 19 October 2019, Singapore is now the third in Southeast Asia, 8th international, and 33rd sequential destination for GoAir. As Managing Director of GoAir, Mr Jeh Wadia mentioned, “The introduction of flights to and from Singapore is a turning point in the history of GoAir. It is in this regard that GoAir will work closely with the Singapore Tourism Board and all such like-minded organizations that can further the cause of tourism in India as well as Singapore.”

GoAir officially launched its operations in November 2005 as a low-fare carrier to commodify air travel and to offer airline seats at a marginal premium to train fares across India. Currently, GoAir renders its services at 25 domestic airports in India and 8 international airports. To fly with GoAir, click here!
